Fee-Based Services in Public Libraries: The Experience of Bauchi State Public Library

Abstract
Increasing fund cut has resulted in public library implementing a wide variety of revenue generation strategies to ensure financial stability. This research work explores some fee-based services available at the Bauchi State Public library, the reasons the library has decided to become entrepreneur, and to know approximately how much annual income is generated by each service, and also to provide a way forward on how the money generated can be well utilized for proper library development. Survey research method was adopted and data was collected by the use of well-structured questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using applicable and relevant statistics, frequency and percentages displayed in tables and charts. Finally, major findings of the research work, conclusion and recommendation were made.
